Do I Need a Website?
One of the most common questions we receive at Top World Designs is, “Do I need a website?” The answer is if you have a business or a personal brand, yes, you need a website. The purpose of a website is to give you visibility and a place to display your brand. Your website should be customized to match your brand and show the public everything they need to know about you. Along with this the next question is, “Could I just have a Facebook page?” This one is more about the situation of your company. We normally don’t recommend only having a Facebook page because it is not able to show your personality the way you can in a website. It also limits the information you are able to display. So, unless you are a brand new startup with extremely limited resources and limited branding, you should have a website. This is coming from the perspective as a consumer as well. When shopping or researching a company, a website offers more legitimacy than a Facebook page alone.
NOTE: This article is not to bash Facebook in any way, shape, or form. It is our strong belief that most companies should use Facebook as a marketing platform and use its advertising feature to your benefit. We just believe that it serves a separate purpose than a website.
